there are 3 states and reasons for every wish you make to God :

your wish is promptly answered :

you have been good to God and he loves you .

your wish is slowly answered :

God is testing you and please, be nicer to God !

your wish is never being answered :

God must have better plans for you and yes , HE ALWAYS DOES !

thus, never question God's job as for everything that occur, He is always the wisest.
